Donna Simpson, 42, from New Jersey already weights over 600 pounds, but she is determined to pack on at least another 400 pounds in an attempt to become the world’s fattest woman. Simpson is set on reaching her 1,000 pound goal in just two years.

Simpson insists that she is healthy, despite the quantity she eats and the fact that she now needs a scooter when she goes shopping. In an effort to reach her 1,000lb. goal, she eats piles of junk food and tries to move as little as possible.

Simpson, who wears size XXXXXXXL dresses, already holds a Guinness World Record as the world’s fattest mother. In 2007, she gave birth weighing 532 pounds. During her high-risk Caesarean birth, she need a team of 30 medical staff to help deliver her daughter Jacqueline.

Although she can only move 20 feet before she has to sit down and rest, Simpson wants to be bigger. She says:

“I’d love to be 1,000lb. It might be hard though. Running after my daughter keeps my weight down.”

One would expect her long-term partner, Philippe, to advise against her gaining more weight, but that’s not the case at all. Philippe, 49, actually encourages her to eat more. He and Donna met on a dating site for plus-size people, and is a self-confessed “fat admirer”. Interestingly, he himself only weights 150lbs.

Donna said:

” I think he’d like it if I was bigger. He’s a real belly man, and completely supports me.”

To achieve her goal of weighing 1,000lbs. in just two years, Donna says that she needs to eat 12,000 calories per day. That’s about 10,000 more than the average woman needs daily. To fund her massive grocery bill, she runs a website where men pay to watch her eat fast food.

Simpson’s obsession with food and being fat seems to stem from her childhood. Her mother always made big meals for her and her brothers, and fed them lots of treats and fattening foods. By the age of 9, she already weighed 182lbs.

Donna’s weight problem began early. Her mother made big meals for Donna and her brothers and gave them lots of treats and fattening food. She says:

“Food was her way of showing she loved us, she wanted us to eat, and she was very protective of us. wouldn’t let anyone say anything bad to us about our weight. She would argue with doctors who said it was dangerous.”

Soon after, her mother died and her dad married a woman who put them on a strict diet. She started off stealing food from the cupboards, but Donna says that eventually she began to worry about her weight and started taking diet pills. From 14 to 18 she got down to 154 pounds, but was unhappy. After she was out of school, she got a desk job and didn’t feel like she needed to be slim anymore:

“Dieting just made me miserable because I was thinking about food all the time. I felt so much better when the weight came back. It felt like who I was meant to be.”

At 19 years old, Donna met her first husband, a chef at a steak restaurant. She says:

“He worked night shifts and would come home at 2 or 3am and bring the leftovers with him. We’d stay up and eat huge piles of steak, mashed potatoes, and gravy with butter. I started gaining weight quickly and my husband liked it.

He said I was sexier when I was bigger, and I felt happier too.”

At age 27, she weighed 350 when she fell pregnant with her oldest son Devin. Soon after, their marriage ended and she turned to food to comfort her. At age 43 she weighed over 600lbs. and tried to lose weight. She lost 70lbs. in six months and was scheduled to have a gastric band operation. But just before she was due to have the surgery, a friend of hers died in a similar operation.

She then decided not to proceed, and decided that being fat was how she was meant to be. She then came across a website that celebrated obese women, and when she admitted her real size she was flooded with emails from men:

“They sent me gifts through the post, like protein shakes to help me put on weight faster. I love eating and people love watching me eat. It makes people happy, and I’m not harming anyone.”
